Mali
The British Embassy in Bamako closed on 31 May 2003 but there is a new British
Embassy Liaison office (BELO) there offering consular and commercial advice,although
it cannot yet issue emergency passports. At present Dakar is the passport issuing
centre for Mali. Local visa applications will continue to be forwarded to Dakar,
but diplomatic visas will no longer be issued from Bamako. The BELO is located
in the Canadian Embassy.
Bamako British Embassy staff are resident in Dakar.
